Last month, I said I wanted to complete a regiment of Tortured Souls, but having just finished a unit, I just didn’t want to paint a second back to back.
So I hemmed and hawed, removing mold lines, partially assembling stuff, but never actually got to a point that I could start painting. Looking at what I wanted eventually painted for my army, I decided to do something different then conventional wisdom argues.
Often, I see people argue to paint a character as a reward for finishing large units. However, I frequently find that what ends up happening for me, is that by the time I get to the character I am burned out and not putting the passion necessary to making characters really pop.

So, I decided to try to continue to prep and assemble stuff for next month, and then paint Mau’ti-bu-su. I am really happy with how she turned out, I thought I might struggle to tie her in with the colors I chose for the Tortured Souls, but I think I have maintained some bright colors, but kept a sinister, morlock-like look.

So that is one character, worth 165 points, earning me 2 Bragging points, keeping me low in the standings, but continuing to make additions to the army, which is realistically my goal :). I now have 4 Bragging Points, woo hoo!
For next month, I either want to paint a regiment of Succubi or a regiment of Helliquin, it depends which grabs me most over the next few days.
