Kings of Hobby: Jake Ciarapica

Hello readers, thank you for joining me for a second installment of Kings of Hobby. Last month I pledged to paint Ma’Ti Bi Su and a regiment of Tortured Souls, well, it seems I over estimated my painting time for the month as I completed none of those things, earning me a big fat 0 for our first month :(.

I wasn’t completely resting on my laurels, as I painted 2 regiments of Halfbreeds, and a Abyssal Dwarf Flame Thrower team for Siege of Augusta and the US Masters; however, as those don’t count in the least for this challenge I have failed miserably.

Despite not finishing anything, I have been working on stuff for this abyssal project, including a model to test the color scheme, tests for the basing, and removing mold lines from my Tortured Souls.

I found this excellent video on how to make Stalagmites, which I think will work great for my basing.

In addition, I found a great tutorial to form the basis for some of my army scheme, the bloodless Bloodletter:

I have been playing around with this scheme and tutorial on my own lesser abyssals and it is turning out pretty well. I didn’t want to share a pic of partially finished stuff though, so you will all have to wait till next month to see!

Full tutorial for this look found here.

My pledge for next month, first I will 100% be finishing stuff for this army next month!

I pledge to paint two regiments of Tortured Souls, putting me at 280 points, and if there is time Mau’Ti Bi Su as my reward!
