Livestreamed Battle: Chris Fisher vs Cyle Pool

Watching one event cancellation after another can get pretty depressing. But fear not! In the age of quarantines and social distancing, Kings of War players are flocking to the internet to get their gaming fix. The first round of the Call to Arms Tournament is currently underway with 146 players from around the world competing via Universal Battle.

Since it’s a virtual tournament, they can do some really interesting things. For example, the players can select from a range of point values for their games, from 2000 to 2300. They can also use completely different lists or even completely different armies from one round to the next. That makes it really hard to do any sort of pre-tournament predictions since we have no idea what everyone will be playing, not to mention that a lot of people will likely take the opportunity to test out some very unconventional lists. The TOs are using a online form to collect game results so they can also collect some data on who plays what against whom. I’m sure there will be some interesting things to learn from that data after the tournament is over.

People who can’t attend tournaments in person love it when some of the games are livestreamed so they can follow along at home. Well, it’s a virtual event and none of us are there ‘in person’. So we figured why not give everyone something to watch while we’re all stuck at home. This Sunday, April 12 at 1:30 PM EST we are going to be streaming the first round grudge match between Chris Fisher and Cyle Pool live on Dash28’s YouTube Channel. Join me, Jake, Alex, and maybe a special guest or two as we offer live commentary and analysis of the match. See you then!

  1. I really enjoyed this.

There are alot of us that are quite isolated from the wider ‘meta’. Seeing stuff like this shows us what KoW looks like in the wider world.

    Thanks.
