Kings of Hobby Finale!

After 6 months of work, our Kings of Hobby Challenge is complete! Lets see how our hobbyists did in the final month, and what they ended the challenge with.

It seems that in the final month, nearly all of our hobbyists lost steam (myself), had other things crop up (Rob and Billy), or have just given up (Joey); however, the always reliable, steadfast rock to this challenge, Ben, did get more painted for this final month.

Ben Painted- 1 Regiment of Storm Wind Cav (215 Points) and 1 Mounted Elven King (140 Points)- Total 345 Points- 3 Bragging Points Earned his full report found here

Jake 4th Place- 6 Bragging Points– 375 Points Paints: 1 Regiment of Tortured Souls, 1 Regiment of Imps, Mau’ti-bu-su

Rob 3rd Place- 13 Bragging Points– 1290 Points: The Captain Mounted, Mounted Army Standard, Horde of Foot Guard, Regiment of Footguard, Regiment of Spearmen, Troop of Knights, Troop of Bowmen, Troop of Handgunners, Giant, Cannon

Billy 2nd Place- 16 Bragging Points– 1365 Points: Regiment of Succubi, x2 Hordes of Molochs, Archfiend of the Abyss, Troop of Gargoyles, Basusu the Vile, Demon Lord Bael

Ben 1st Place- 19 Bragging Points– 1770 Points: 1 Horde of Elven archers, Mystical Dragon Kindred Lord, Horde of Awoken Guardians, Forest Warden with the Skull Pole, Horde of Drakkon Riders: 270 points, Troop of the Windborne, Mounted Elven Mage, Mounted Elven King, Regiment of Stormwind Cavalry: 215 points

That is the standings as of the final month; however, to shake things up a bit, we wanted to mimic one of my favorite games, Mario Party, and add some surprise bonus points to individuals. These were decided before the challenge started, secretly.

First, a bonus Bragging Point will be awarded to any hobbyist that didn’t miss any months. Painting consistently for 6 months straight it no small feat, and without our reliable hobbyists, this challenge would have fizzled pretty fast. That is of course 1 extra point to Ben, the only one who never missed a month!

Second, a bonus Bragging Point will be awarded to the hobbyist who painted the most models. After all, some armies paint up quicker, due to elite and expensive models, while others need many more models painted. Ben painted 44 models, Billy 34, and Rob painted a whopping 88 models! 1 Bonus point to Rob!

Finally, a bonus point will be awarded to the army that painted the most points, which is Ben with 1770 points!

With these new bonus points, our standings don’t change; however, Rob moves up to 17 Bragging Points, and Ben up to 21 Bragging Points!

Hopefully you all enjoyed our Kings of Hobby Challenge, if you have ideas for similar challenges that Dash28’s writers can participate in, or if you would like to see a return of the Kings of Hobby Challenge comment and tell us!
