Support Charity, Win an Armada Fleet

I am pleased to announce the second annual charity raffle at the upcoming Unplugged Grand Tournament. You don’t even need to attend the event in order to participate! Read on for all of the details.

The Charity

100% of the money raised will be donated to the Center for Children’s Advocacy, a local nonprofit law firm which fights for the legal rights of Connecticut’s most vulnerable children. Their mission is to “protect and promote the legal rights of Connecticut’s low-income children and youth so they have equitable opportunities for good health, a quality education and a successful transition to adulthood.” I encourage you to explore their website to learn more about the essential work that they do.

Last year we were able to raise an incredible $1250 USD for Hope After Loss with the first charity raffle. This year, with your help, we hope to blow that total out of the water!

The Prize

There is only one prize at stake in this raffle, but it’s a special one. The lucky winner will receive everything they need to start playing Armada! This includes four fully painted Northern Alliance / Varangur ships, four custom card holders, a neoprene ocean mat, an Armada rulebook, a punchboard pack of tokens and terrain, and an Armada dice pack. That’s a $215 USD value!

The fleet has been lovingly painted by yours truly. Here’s a look at the ships.

How to Participate

  • $10 per raffle ticket – purchase as many as you like – remember 100% is donated to charity
    • Cash or check accepted in person at the GT
    • Venmo accepted from now until Sunday, April 23rd at 12:00pm EST
      • @Gregory-Person
  • Winner will be announced during the awards ceremony at the GT on Sunday, April 23rd
  • If the winner is in attendance at the event, they will of course be able to take the prize home right then and there. Otherwise, I will package everything up as securely as possible and mail it to the winner’s address.
    • Note, the resin models contain some fragile elements and may sustain damage when shipped. I will do my best to prevent this from happening but there is always a risk.

A Final Note

Organizing the charity raffle requires a significant investment of my time and money – I purchase the prizes on my own and put in the hours to paint them with care. I am happy to do this in order to raise as much money as possible for an organization that does such important, good work.

I started the annual charity raffle at the Unplugged Grand Tournament last year as a way to honor my daughter, Autumn Hailey,  who was born prematurely and lived a heartbreakingly short life. While the specific charity we support may change from year to year, the money raised will always go to an organization that works with children and families and the donation will always be made in her name. I truly cannot thank you enough for your support in helping honor my daughter’s memory the best way I know how. Even if you are not in a position to participate, I urge you to share this article on your social media so that it might reach as wide an audience as possible.

Thank you again, and good luck!
